1. Licensing Applications
Oversee and coordinate the application process for federal gaming licenses and Rio de Janeiro state licenses.
Prepare and submit all required documents, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with legal requirements under Portaria 1232 and relevant regulatory frameworks.
Serve as the liaison with government regulatory agencies (e.g., Ministry of Finance, Rio de Janeiro's regulatory body).
Monitor timelines, application status, and resolve any inquiries or delays with authorities.
2. Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all company operations comply with federal and Rio-specific gaming laws.
Develop and maintain policies, processes, and tools to comply with Portaria 1232, Jogo Responsável guidelines, and anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.
Monitor and assess changes in Brazilian gambling laws and implement required adjustments promptly.
Maintain records of compliance-related activities and reports for audits or inspections.
3. Responsible Gaming (Jogo Responsável)
Implement and promote responsible gaming practices as part of operational procedures.
Develop training programs to educate internal stakeholders about Jogo Responsável principles.
Work with marketing and operations teams to ensure all promotions align with responsible gaming regulations.
Monitor customer behavior and promote intervention practices where necessary.
4. Risk Management and Audits
Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to licensing, regulatory compliance, and gaming operations.
Conduct regular internal audits to evaluate adherence to legal obligations and operational standards.
Report and document any regulatory breaches and recommend corrective actions.
5. Operations Monitoring
Ensure that day-to-day operations align with licensing obligations, including reporting standards, tax compliance, and consumer protection measures.
Review customer onboarding processes for AML compliance (KYC procedures) and reporting suspicious activities to regulators.
Collaborate with legal, finance, and operations teams to monitor compliance performance metrics.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Business Administration, Compliance, or related fields.
5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, preferably within gambling/betting, financial services, or similarly regulated industries.
In-depth knowledge of Brazilian gambling laws, including federal regulations and Rio state requirements.
Familiarity with AML compliance, responsible gaming guidelines, and relevant Brazilian authorities.
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of Jogo Responsável and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Ability to interact with regulatory bodies and manage external stakeholders.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in legal documentation, reporting, and risk assessment.
Strong written and verbal communication in Portuguese and English.
