Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and creative Product Engineer to join our team. This individual will play a key role in developing innovative packaging solutions that are sustainable and integrated with IoT technologies. Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of innovative, sustainable packaging solutions that incorporate eco-friendly materials and reduce waste.
• Incorporate IoT capabilities such as smart packaging, sensors, and RFID to improve product traceability and condition monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to understand customer needs and provide solutions that meet both market demand and technical feasibility.
• Prototype new packaging designs, conduct material testing, and ensure packaging solutions are scalable for production.
• Research and implement sustainable materials like biodegradable polymers, recycled content, and plant-based alternatives.
• Drive continuous improvement in packaging innovation, focusing on life cycle analysis (LCA) to minimize environmental footprint.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, materials, and technologies to keep Ollins at the forefront of the packaging industry.
• Prototype and test packaging concepts and support manufacturing scale-up.

• Proven experience in packaging design, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and innovative materials.
• Expertise in IoT integration in packaging, such as RFID, sensor-based monitoring, or smart packaging technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of sustainable packaging practices, including cradle-to-cradle design, circular economy, and eco-friendly material options.
• Experience with packaging testing and analysis, ensuring designs meet durability, transport, and regulatory standards.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Rhino.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to innovate while balancing technical and environmental considerations.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and clients.
• Degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Sustainability Engineering, or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
