JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the monitoring and oversight of the day-to-day output of the Safety Management Division. He / She is also responsible in ensuring that his personnel are in the same level of compliance.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the Manager- -Safety Management in implementing the objectives and strategic plans of the management for the section.
• Supports the Manger – Safety Management to ensure and develop the technical, organizational and personnel requirements of the section.
• Ensure the competency of his personnel through proper monitoring and endorsement of necessary training and skills enhancement programs to the safety manager.
• Ensure that all workloads are properly assigned and delegated to personnel.
• Assist personnel under his supervision in times of difficulty or errors to ensure that proper standards are re-established.
• Monitor the output of the section through the established KPIs.
• Ensure that all necessary reports needed by the management are accurate and timely submitted.
• Perform other duties within the scope of approved procedures that may be assigned by the Manager-Safety Management.
• Complies with applicable regulatory and standards of APPC; actively involve with APPC Safety Management System by reporting all accident, incidents, and any hazard in the workplace; and being safety conscious by exerting duty of care in the performance of duties.
• Ensure that all outputs or reports, that will be seen or endorsed to the management, contracted AOC, 3rd party organizations and the relevant authority, must have the concurrence of at least the Manager-Safety Management.
• Reports within reasonable time to the Authority the breakdown of any pollution control facility, and the estimated and actual date of completion/repair and operation.
• Promptly submits validate/certified as correct periodic reports as required by the Authority (otherwise, said report shall not be accepted as evidence in pollution case).
• Ensures discipline and proposes appraisal or disciplinary action to his superior.
• Assesses and analyzes actual performance of subordinates in his section against the set standards and objectives.
• Accountable for the safekeep, and proper use of resources assigned under his / her name.
• In the absence of Manager – Safety Management, he /she may act as OIC Manager – Safety Management Division.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned by Manager - Safety Management.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

• College graduate, preferably aviation engineering or other aviation technical degree.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Must have at least 5 years of experience in safety management and/or quality management system in an aviation / AMO / AOC environment.
• Advance knowledge and understanding of the quality and safety management system.
• Advance knowledge and understanding of safety audits and investigation process.
• Adequate knowledge and understanding of aircraft systems.
• Knowledge and understanding of Philippine Civil Aviation Regulations.
