uwi is a financing company (SEC registered) focused on providing private credit solutions to solve Southeast Asia’s housing backlog. Our flagship loan product called Express Building, provides construction financing to small and medium sized residential developers to build their pre-sold affordable housing pipeline (mid, low, government subsidized homes). Since launching in the Philippines in 2022, uwi has originated 500+ loans to 20+ residential developers resulting in over PHP800 million of total Express Building loans. We are looking to scale our lending business throughout the Philippines!


Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and resourceful Country Manager to lead our operations in the Philippines. As our key leader in the country, you’ll wear multiple hats—driving market penetration, building partnerships, and executing our go-to-market strategy. This is a hands-on role for a self-starter who is ready to scale a lending platform.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lending: Scale the lending platform to achieve the monthly and quarterly KPIs.
  • Market Growth: Develop and execute a localized strategy to expand Uwi’s presence in the Philippines, including market research, competitive analysis, and customer acquisition.
  • Partnerships: Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships with local businesses, government entities, or brokers to accelerate growth.
  • Sales & Business Development: Drive revenue by building a pipeline of customers, tailoring our value proposition to local needs, and closing deals.
  • Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations in the Philippines, including hiring new team members, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Brand Ambassador: Represent uwi in the Philippines, attending events, speaking engagements, and networking opportunities to build awareness.
  • Feedback Loop: Act as the eyes and ears of the company in the Philippines, providing insights to the leadership team to refine our product and strategy.


Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years professional experience in SME lending / residential real estate development
  • Proven experience in building a team and growing revenues of a lending company at an exponential rate;
  • Preferably with a residential real estate development or commercial/SME lending (bank or non-bank) background;
  • Preferably with a background in finance or accounting;
  • Deep understanding of the Philippines’ residential real estate and SME lending market dynamics, culture, and business landscape.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset—comfortable with scaling a team and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Strong network with residential real estate developers and ability to open doors with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; fluency in Filipino and English required. Fluency in Bisaya is a bonus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a remote founding team.


Compensation:

  • Max salary of Php 250k
