The Role
We're looking for a sharp, analytically-minded Finance Analyst to support our growing portfolio of Australian clients. This is a versatile, client-facing role where you'll work across multiple aspects of finance operations - bookkeeping, financial reporting, month-end processes, payroll support, and analysis.
This is a client-facing position. You'll communicate directly with Australian business owners and managers, answer their questions about financial data, and build trusted relationships through professional service delivery. Strong communication skills and client service orientation are essential.
You'll be working with diverse Australian businesses across different industries, giving you exposure to varied accounting scenarios and business models. This isn't a narrow, single-function role - you'll develop a well-rounded skill set across finance operations while building expertise in Australian accounting standards and systems.

What You'll Do
Core Finance Operations
- Process end-to-end bookkeeping for multiple Australian clients using Xero
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accurate transaction coding
- Support month-end close processes and prepare accounting adjustments
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Assist with BAS (Business Activity Statement) preparation and compliance
- Support payroll processing and ensure accuracy of pay runs
- Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records across multiple entities
Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare financial reports and identify trends or anomalies
- Support variance analysis and budget-to-actual comparisons
- Assist with cash flow monitoring and forecasting
- Identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities
- Help design scalable finance processes as we grow
Client Communication & Support
- Respond professionally to client queries about their financial data via email, Slack, and video calls
- Communicate clearly about financial processes, requirements, and recommendations
- Build trust through accurate, timely delivery of finance services and proactive communication
- Present financial information in a way that non-finance business owners can understand
- Be the day-to-day point of contact for assigned clients
The Growth Aspect: As you prove your capabilities, you'll take on more complex work, lead specific client relationships, and potentially specialize in areas that interest you (financial modeling, management reporting, payroll, etc.).
What You MUST Have (Non-Negotiables)
Strong Academic Foundation
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with Honours from a Philippine university
- Qualified CPA in the Philippines - you must be a licensed Certified Public Accountant
- Strong academic performance demonstrating analytical capability and work ethic
Relevant Professional Experience
- 2-3 years of experience in a Big 4 accounting firm, large corporation finance team, or reputable accounting practice
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Exposure to bookkeeping, payroll, or multi-entity accounting is a plus
Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
- Experience with accounting software (any system - we'll train you on Xero)
- Quick learner with technology - comfortable mastering new systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliations

Stable Work History
- Minimum 1 year in each previous role (showing commitment and follow-through)
- Looking for someone who wants to build expertise over time, not someone who moves frequently
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience working with Australian accounting standards or businesses
- Prior exposure to Xero or cloud-based accounting platforms
- Experience in a client-service environment (accounting firm, consulting, outsourcing)
- Understanding of Australian tax concepts (GST, PAYG, FBT, superannuation)
- You've consistently been a top performer in previous roles
- You're pursuing CA qualification alongside your CPA
- You genuinely enjoy the analytical aspects of finance and get satisfaction from solving puzzles
- Strong interpersonal skills and comfort building client relationships
