Tourism Management (Tertiary Level)

Position Title: Tourism Management Instructor

Department: School of Hospitality and Tourism Management

Reporting To: Academic Head / Program Head

Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Deliver lectures, workshops, and experiential learning activities in line with CHED and institutional standards.
  • Design lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessment tools aligned with student learning outcomes.
  • Facilitate practical training in areas such as tour operations, travel services, events management, and destination studies.
  • Provide mentoring, consultation, and academic support to students.
  • Participate in faculty development programs, departmental meetings, and institutional events.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance, and academic performance monitoring.
  • Promote global citizenship, cultural awareness, and sustainable tourism practices in teaching.
  • Uphold classroom discipline, academic integrity, and professional ethics.


I. Educational Qualifications

  • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management, Travel Management, Hospitality, or related fields.
  • A Master’s degree or graduate units in Tourism, Hospitality, or Education is an advantage.
  • TESDA/industry certifications (e.g., Tour Guiding, Events Management, Ticketing/Reservation Systems) are desirable.


II. Experience Level

  • With 0–3 years of teaching or professional experience in the tourism, travel, and events industry.
  • Fresh graduates with excellent academic standing, OJT/internship experience, and strong communication skills are welcome to apply.


III. Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge in Tourism and Hospitality Operations, Events Management, Sustainable Tourism, Philippine and Global Tourism Geography, and Tourism Marketing.
  • Familiarity with airline systems, travel agency operations, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in instructional design, outcomes-based education (OBE), and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Effective classroom management, student engagement, and industry integration strategies.
  • Competence in research, curriculum enhancement, and critical thinking facilitation.


IV. Working Conditions

  • Dynamic, student-centered academic environment.

  • Teaching load may include laboratory, fieldwork, and evening classes depending on student enrollment.
  • May be required to assist in tourism-related events, study tours, and internship coordination.
